My oldest turned 3 last week. And he wanted a monster themed party. So we had one. And because he is allergic to everything, snacks and dessert are pretty much gluten-free, vegan, soy-free and nut-free.
I had so much fun carving the watermelon monster and it was easier than I thought. When the 3-yo saw the monster in the fridge, at first he was speechless, then he was really excited about seeing a monster in the fridge.
He wanted cupcakes. Everyone in his class has been having cupcakes and he could not have one so I wanted to make sure he at least get one on his birthday. I made gluten-free, vegan, soy-free and nut-free vanilla cupcakes with vegan frosting topped with huge monster eyes. The monster eyes were made from shortbread cookies, dipped in petit four icing.
